A Realization

I have been living in my town for last 29 years.It's a small town.Till today I was proud that I knew my town and there is no place here that I had not seen.
But now my pride lies shattered.
This evening while going out for evening walk I followed a new route and after half an hour found myself at a place that I had never seen before.
Is not it a realisation? I have yet to see and know this small town where I have spent long 29 years of my life!!
Now I wonder if I know myself fully.

I still don't know many places in my city. I'm bad at remembering roads

@amitkokiladitya You live in a big city.It is understandable that you have not yet seen your city completely.I,on the other hand,live in a small town.Here also everything is changing fast and the town is being developed as an industrial hub.

@amadeo I don't like it too,but can't stop it either.Everything around me is changing.It is another matter that I had not realized it before last evening.

That is not your mistake. We are busy with so many things and hardly get time to know ourselves then how can we get to know about our whole town. Nothing new in that situation.
Last week after attending a meeting, I returned to home with another lady, she told me where she resides, the place was adjacent to my place but the name she told me about her lane, I heard it first. I asked, are you talking about a place in Delhi, she laughed and told me, she also came to know about that name once she started to live there.
We have no idea what is going on at the tip of our nose

Here in Delhi, after the metro lines complete recently, I have seen, there was many places near road side was occupied by trees and plants now they turned to be beautiful garden, thanks to the metro lines. They make it as alovely place.

@Sreekala I have read and heard about it.A friend of mine who lives in Delhi had told me that Delhi is undergoing a sea change.Glad to know that they did not fell trees .I have never been to our national Capital.

@Sreekala Yes,I know.Everything around us is changing fast.Only one or two years back there were areas near my town that were open and full of trees and bushes.But all these areas are punctuated with small houses and shops and a market is being developed there.Last evening the area where I had arrived was once a jungle,but now it is changed.There are huge residential buildings.
Having seen this last evening a question flashed across myself - am I now what I was five or six years back? Or,am I changed too ?

We don't always know everything about a place, that's for sure. Just think, somewhere new for you to explore! =)

@LovingMyBabies Now that everything around me is changing so fast , I don't think there is any other place for me to explore.Mine is a small town.Now it is in the process of turning into a big industrial hub.

@CarolDM I agree.My town is also developing as an industrial hub.There still may be areas I have yet to see.But if I have still not seen my own town completely , how can I claim that I know myself.There may be some aspects of my character and of my nature or of my personality I am not aware of.
