When I started this countdown of favorites that have "dance" or some variation in the title I warned everyone there'd be a number of familiar names on the list. And what do you know, for today's song a longtime favorite shows up!! Here's today's song. #5: Slow Dancer - Boz Scaggs Oooh. That voice. See you tomorrow. Oh, you want more? He's kinda sexy, too. Now I'll see you tomorrow. In 1969 Boz Scaggs left the Steve Miller Band and struck out on his own. His first album was a pretty uneven mix of country (he covered "Waiting for a Train"), blues (highlighted by "Loan Me a Dime," which many consider to be Duane Allman's greatest guitar work), rock, and the blue-eyed soul we'd come to associate with the Boz man. This title song from his 1974 album is a simply gorgeous ballad about a guy learning about sex....apparently with a prostitute. Ooh, that voice. Slow Dancer Written by George Daly and Boz Scaggs Recorded by Boz Scaggs From Slow Dancer, 1974 You never even got my name right:
With the Steve Miller Band for their first two albums, Boz Scaggs carved out an inimitable niche for himself and soared on his own with many hits starting in...
