Why are dandelions considered weeds when daisies are considered flowers?

Why are dandelions considered weeds when daisies are considered flowers?

If you like it let it grow, I have a beautiful patch of buttercups and love daisys and dandelion clocks, my boys call the floating seeds fairies. I don't like thistles in the grass but other than that I'm very laid back about pretty weeds. Who has the right to decide really?

It's an arbitrary distinction. A weed is whatever plant you don't want.

because dandelions come up in the middle of your grass, and destroy your grass.. where as daises are really pretty and you plant them in a flower bed
