My cousin (well in law if you want to be technical) posted a link to an interactive clue game. Apparently Raleigh (our state capital) is going to have a live clue game during the summer. I tried looking for the link again but can't find it on google. I've found a lot of other interesting things that I think would be fun though.
According to the bit of article I read, this experience started in the UK and has made it's way here.
Clue is the famous game that features Mr. Boddy (or Body?) and you have to find out who killed him. I love the game, and the movie (1985) and would love doing this!
So I want to find out more and maybe con some friends into checking it out with me.

I don't know whether the name is different in the US (you sometimes have different names for things there) but here the board game is called Cluedo. It seems that the online one is called Cluedupp and this is probably the link you were looking for:

@ScribbledAdNauseum I don't know why they have to change the names of things. Probably something to do with copyright but then the name of the first Harry Potter book was changed for the American market (simply because the American publisher didn't think that "Philosopher's Stone" sounded magical enough). Rowling apparently agreed, though she regretted doing so later.
Anyway, the game Cluedupp sounds fun but the description of the game is exactly the same for Raleigh as it is for Cambridge (UK), so I don't know how 'local' the clues are!

@owlwings Are they the exact same? Hopefully they've customized it beyond just the description of it.
As for the names of things, I think it has very much to do with branding, copyright laws and just the market. Also taking into consideration that a lot of companies merge over time. Mergers usually bring in new ideas and people wanting to change names and concepts.

@ScribbledAdNauseum The descriptions were identical down to the name of the fictional town. For $46/£36 I'd expect some kind of costomisation to match the town's streets and features, wouldn't you?

That sounds like it would be fun, I hope you find the info to it.

Owl was kind enough to provide me with a link, though i was also looking for the news coverage on it.

These games listed below (or above) in other posts, don't sound much like the original Clue game that I know from childhood (and still have in my cupboard). These sound more like the murder mystery dinners but outside. I think it would be cool if there was a game of the original Clue you can play online. Heck, there probably is. But I don't need to be addicted to another game.

Yes, I also thought that it was a bit unlike Clue, but still would be fun. I am sure there is a clue game online, but like you, I won't bother looking so that I don't get addicted.
My uncle bought me a clue game on one of his consoles, I don't play it that often, but it is fun.

I am sure it would be. I don't know, I kind of want to experience it but I also wonder if I'd be too shy to ask the questions.

I often get adverts on various sites for this game locally. Not sure if it's the same company though. Husband had to take part in a similar event as part of a team building exercise at work last year, but it would be more fun to do it with friends, I would think.

According to what Owl has found for me, it appears to be the exact same thing, just transplanted to America. I agree, I'd rather do this with friends and family than with work colleagues.
