Honey is a useful food for adults. It should not be given to infants before their immune system is properly developed, however, because it may trigger allergies to pollen. Typhoid is a bacterial infection which is usually contracted because of poor sanitation. It should be treated as soon as possible with antibiotics. Do NOT rely on 'home remedies' (such as honey, for example). They are not effective. If if is not treated, it is estimated that about 1 in 5 people will die and those that survive may have complications. The best protection against typhoid is to make sure that proper precautions are taken when preparing food and that the drinking water is clean and uncontaminated with sewage. Preferably boil and filter all water, especially before drinking it.

@srisahara I think typhoid is not related with digestion. It is an infection and has to be treated immediately and proper care has to be taken on food items otherwise it will not get cured. @owlwings explained very clearly about this in his response.

You are right, honey also as home remedy of coughs. it is good if honey drink in warm water with lemon, it can healing coughs. But I ever read that honey good for digestion problem. Typhoid bacteria works in digestion, so if digestion healthy with honey it can help digestion survive from typhoid bacteria's attack... I am sorry it just my idea, I don't know is it right?

@Sreekala In the sense that typhoid is caused by a bacteria (Salmonella typhi, which is related to the one which causes salmonella food poisoning) transmitted via the feces and the symptoms include loss of appetite and diarrhoea, it can be said to be related to the digestive tract. It is much more serious than food poisoning, however, and honey will NOT protect you against it! It must be treated properly by a doctor.
Find out about typhoid fever, what causes it, how it's treated and what you can do to protect yourself if you're travelling to a high-risk area.

Am not sure of that. You better go to the doctor. Self-medication is sometimes not advisable especially if the fever is out of ordinary.
