The profile does not jibe with politics. She did wait tables for her subsistence.
But she's a millennial with a keen sense of seeing the wrong and the courage to right it.
So, she simply opened her mouth and arranged progressive movements so their voices could be heard.
And she became the youngest representative ever elected in Congress.
Turned out she just didn't have the compassion and the passion, she also has great grey cells between her ears.
She is called AOC and that stands for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Finally, from America comes a lady with sense and sensibility to lead this generation and this world to a bright future.

Pardon me, I couldn't help but laugh. I will ask you the same thing, trust me, for people have affirmed that I am a good judge of character.
I will teach how. First, watch the person. Second, Listen to the person. By the demeanor and the spoken words, a person exhibits the self. And, to quote a verse, in the fullness of one's heart, the mouth speaks.
Trevor Noah of the Daily Show is a funny guy. This time, he addresses his guest in all seriousness. She speaks of health care for all, free education, green new deal, plus appropriate taxes for the wealthy. Listen for your self, and come out of the nightmare that is America since 2001.

@eileenleyva Any man or woman associated with Bernie Sanders and Left Wing with thoughts like "we must increase tax on business to 70% that's good for the climate change" is a nightmare that will lead to america turning into Venezuela or communist china.

I think it's interesting that people who are not even US citizens seem to know what's best for our country. AOC is a kid in a candy store. She sees so much she wants, but doesn't have the age, sense, or resources to pay for it.

How condescending your metaphor is of AOC. The candid display of spontaneity is an intelligence only now has an American, and a millennial at that, has shown in a very long time
Sorry Vicki, if you are referring to me as that person who seems to know what's best for your country, yes, I see from the outside looking in, and I see a great nation deteriorating because people wouldn't even trust their youth like AOC.

@1creekgirl Please advise me, for I must have missed this discourse when I was a student, in what philosophy in life was it stated "agree to disagree."
Agreeing on something disagreeable sounds moronic to me. Am willing, though, to study the teaching of the thinker who proposed this.

@eileenleyva I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

@xander6464 Yeah, jobs only help the rich
The more democrats today talk the more I'm convinced that they hate workers and resent jobs.

@xander6464 The jobs that hag hated were going to pay over $100k.
Alexandria Occasionally-Coherant is a worker hatin, pro slavery bigoted fool!! She just wants to be holding the whip.

AOC is very green. She should listen and learn for awhile and then she will be more experienced to lead.

I do not understand what you mean by green. However, AOC is a millennial, thereby making her more aware of the problems of her generation and more adept with social media. I think she is just ripe for the job. Actually what the youth needs to follow suit.

Valerie, we have international news networks on the islands. We get feeds same time as you do. Media has made us closer. and updated with current events.
Families and friends are also scattered all over America. I see their posts everyday on facebook and the like.
From what I gather, the United States is divided between Republicans and Democrats, the predominant parties through the decades. There are independent ones. Perhaps there are also apolitical ones.
My post is about an admiration of a young lady who has an uncanny semblance with Anne Hathaway, and when I first heard her talk, I deemed her speech eloquent. The more I listened, the more I think her knowledgeable and logical, her points always backed with basis and evidences.
AOC has said that she grew up with the aftermaths of 9/11 New York, followed by the economic crisis of 2008. All she wanted was for her America to recover the greatness it once had, because she never knew it. That is a noble goal.
If most Americans differ from my views, I wonder who else is as young and as intelligent most Americans are rooting for.
For your advisement on the matter., please.

@just4him Politics is depressing only when the administration is foolish and incapable, dishonest and corrupt. If governance is good and the welfare of the people are being met, politics isn't depressing at all.
Sadly, the people who engage in politics fall into the power trap, thus, the filthy state of affairs ensue.
It is my hope millennials are spared of the lust for power. This young lady has no intention for power play.

@eileenleyva Okay -- I'm glad you have the information you do. I never thought otherwise.
You want my opinion. I NEVER give my opinion on politics. I try not to watch it. It's as depressing as the rest of the news. I've heard more cons about this young lady than pros. Again, I'm not weighing in. I haven't heard her myself and have no intention of doing so.

I have read many views regarding her. I am not in America right now and so most of my information are from online sources. But whatever videos and articles I have come across present a different picture. It appears that most of the Americans don't support her views. They feel that she is more of communist and is not good for America's economy. These are not my personal views but I have just written what I have come across.

Good thing you try to view things objectively.
I think though that branding someone communist is not appropriate. Communism is what they have in China, where people are repressed. Americans are most vocal.

@arunima25 Such broad understanding of people and social norms you've got there.
Always loved mystical India. I admire your people for instilling reading and tradition.
Opinions are quite interesting, except for the argument "Let's agree to disagree." Uggh. An imbecile came up with that. The inutile followed.

@eileenleyva I totally agree that communism can not survive in a vibrant secular democratic nation. In India too, the communist ideology is on it's last leg and will be soon wiped out.
We all have our say. And so many would support her and many would criticize her. My husband feels she is not good for economy. But then it's his perspective.
