Not to second guess the way Brian Lane deals with his dog Lucky who managed to escape from his home in Brentwood Long Island on Monday evening when Brian allowed his West Highland terrier to run outside his home without a leash. Brian thought Lucky would just go outside the backyard into the grass and return home after doing his bathroom work. Lucky decided to run into the Long Island Expressway (LIE) which could have some tragic consequences had some motorists not stopped to pick up the five year old dog who was adopted by Brian when he found Lucky abandoned outside a Wendy's restaurant to reunite him with his owner the same night. Lucky does live up to his name after all.

I've been on the LIE many times. I'm glad Lucky made contact with a good person.

I know what you mean since my biggest fear is that a dog or child that runs on an expressway is in danger of getting hurt since autos cannot see them sometimes.

@Deepizzaguy Sometimes things happen too quickly for even a star athlete to stop in time.

That is true since you would think that dogs have enough common sense not to run on a highway.

Lucky is lucky but again another silly doggy. The owner better keep him on a leash.

That is what I was thinking that owners should have their dogs on leashes when they go outside with them.
