No surprise in the obscure side of “eyes” songs? No surprise here, either. I recently did a top ten list of these guys. This song was the topper on that list. So, to no shock to anyone, here’s today’s hit song with “eyes” in the title. #3: Behind Blue Eyes - The Who But my dreams, they aren’t as empty As my conscience seems to be Ooh, yeah. I know this song is one of the five songs you’re going to hear when the “classic rock” DJ says, “Coming up, we’ve got The Who.” I don’t listen to FM rock, so I don’t hear this 82 times a day. As a result, I’m not tired of it. You know it. You may or may not love it. I certainly do love it. Behind Blue Eyes Written by Pete Townshend Recorded by The Who From Who’s Next, 1971 Tell me some bad news:

With due respect to John Entwistle, the bass guitar player, I feel for their loss. 1971 was a very good year. I was 14.

Not that the lead singer so "dreamy" had anything to do with it.
