Human Trafficking happens because slavery is still popular

We talk about the slavery of the past and wonder how on Earth such a horrific thing could not only be legal, but considered a "right". How can someone be so inhuman as to buy and sell other human beings? How can people be so full of themselves that they think they can "own" someone else? Sadly though, there are more human beings being bought and sold in slavery today than ever before. Every day, someone is paying someone for the opportunity to rape women, children and even men. Every day people are sold into labor slavery. Every day... in this day and age. Here in Sheboygan County, WI, we have Freedom Cry. We're an organization that educates and informs the public about the scourge of Human Trafficking. We are not a law enforcement organization, but we work with law enforcement and local organizations to provide support for survivors of Human Trafficking to help them through the trials of recovery. Human Trafficking is modern day slavery. Please join in the fight and help us end the slavery we thought was over long ago. Even if it's just learning the red flag signs so you can respond appropriately if you see something happening. If you do see something, call the local police or the Human Trafficking Hotline. Don't post it on Facebook or even MyLot, and definitely don't forward or share unsubstantiated stories of Human Trafficking or abductions. These do little more than get in the way of legitimate law enforcement efforts. Most of all, seek out presentations from law enforcement and local organizations in the fight. People tell me no one supports slavery. I disagree. Everyone who participates in Human Trafficking supports slavery. Everyone who pays money to rape someone supports slavery. Everyone who sells another human being supports slavery. Everyone who pays for a sex slave supports slavery.

Some people think slavery should still be a thing. I have read how certain people believe why America became such a powerhouse because all the production they were able to get done without paying people. What we fed housed and clothed them, some say. More than we do now is their mindset. It was straight crazy and amazing this mindset is still is so common.

They say justification is the second strongest human drive. People will justify anything, even slavery. Pretty pathetic isn't it.

Slavery still exist in many ways seen as well as unforseen, I don't support slavery or human trafficking, I believe that both acts are inhumane. However for those participating in the act I pray that God have mercy upon their souls as they are foolish individuals that are mentally disturbed and in dire need of medication and counseling in a maximum security facility (padded walls and straigh jacket included). This is an issue that's a very serious matter, but not being properly taken care of as it should. I will continue to pray for this world and the sufferings of the people just like me and others within the myLot family that have experienced and/or witnessed this act of inhumanity. I pray that God will change the hearts of the the individuals who are participants in such inhumane acts as well... very touchy subject and many have various opinions about it,but my thought is to pray for those that are in need and that includes criminals they need spiritual guidance right along with mental health services.

Yes repentance and healing is available to all through the Atonement of Jesus Christ... even Human Traffickers and those who pay them. There is healing for the victims who are bought and sold too, but they require no repentance. We know the world is going to get more and more evil as the 2nd coming of Christ approaches. We are just seeing what that will look like.

Our present society has already casted slavery as illegal and so is our modern day human trafficking. Most countries tries to stop this activity from flourishing but of course people in need would be force to risk their lives in exchange for the benefits it may have on them which in the end is a bad choice for them. What is important right now is most people are aware that both slavery and Human trafficking is bad and not right and anyone with the right mind should never entertain them at all.

@rsa101 Yes, and no. Yes, they have to hide, but no they don't hide in dark corners of big cities. It is happening in towns and suburbs too. Kids who are being trafficked still go to school and act "normal" when they aren't being raped by someone who paid for the privilege. It may even be happening in a neighborhood near you.. or your neighborhood. Thank you for a good discussion.

@ParaTed2k Well the only difference we have in the past and now is that it was outlawed already. Before it was done openly without any hindrance from any government. But now it is done underground these day because it was outlawed already by many countries. The only problem nowadays is because it is done underground already it is more harder to really monitor and catch them because they have to really do it in hiding.

@ParaTed2k I was not talking about the literal going underground thing. It could be done on openly but they could not be known to any governing body that prohibits it. That is why outlawing the said made it more difficult to really pinpoint and stop them and there are also the corruption that is happening from within the system that at times makes their operation looked legit to many.

Tragically that is true. There are so many wonderful things about your country. Hopefully someday your country can be rid of such a scourge.
