one glaring thing i have noticed,-tho i WAS warned it might happen,is i've noticed my hair is now turning white at lightspeed. now,i've always had grey to some degree in it..hereditary..but now,i'm talking white, white. hmm.. i'm on the fence whether to leave it or not.it could be striking. ..if it all turns. most people in my family never go fully white.it's a tricolor mix of grey, white and blackish. but i'm starting to feel i have a losing battle going on..if i dye it,it only covers what has pigment left..and the white pops back out. well, that was pointless. maybe i'll get some manic panic dye for the hell of it and dye it blue. at least i wouldn't have to strip the color first. if i'm gonna get old,i might as well have some fun with it.

That's interesting. I didn't go gray when I had my hysterectomy. Of course, age and genetics probably also play roles in it. I was 35 when I had mine, and I didn't go on hormones. And blue's a fine color. Our computer tech at work has blue hair.

@scarlet_woman -- oh, for years I'd walk down "that" aisle of the grocery store and give one of those cartoon villain evil laughs as I passed "those" products. Oh, yeah, that was total liberation!!

My mom's side of the family gets gray late - my dad's side gets gray early. My sister and I got in between - so we have streaks of gray with salt and pepper sprinkles (we normally would have all blackish hair). In the past couple years, it's just gotten grayer, but I still have the black in there. I didn't want to dye it. So instead I got an asymmetric cut and it's done wonders. For some reason it makes the black and white look striking rather than "old" - I've gotten a lot of compliments on it even from strangers. I like to think I look cool and trendy .
