'Mankading', the act of the cricket bowler removing the bails in cricket before delivering the ball, so to run out the non striker batsman as they try to steal a yard or two running to the other trying to gain an advantage. Its named after an Indian cricketer who did this against Australia in 1947, Viinoo Mankad. In baseball this is part of the game and called stealing a base, where the runner takes on the pitchers arm to steal a base. It makes the game more interesting. In cricket its considered very ungentlemanly but is legal.
In the Indian Premier League a bowler called Ravichandran Ashwin mankaded English batsman Joss Butler. Butler was trying to steal a yard to get on strike with a quick run every ball. Ashwin stopped , whipped the bails off , and Butler was given run out after a third umpire decision. Butler was not happy.
I am in favor of the Mankad 100%. The modern game is too much in favor of the batsmen/women. They have heavier bats, favorable fielding restrictions and shorter boundaries so they get more runs these days. Lets help the bowler out here. Make batsmen liable for a Mankad. If they try to leave the crease at the bowlers end before the ball leaves the bowlers hand then let them be run out! It would add more drama that's for sure.

Being in the States, I am afraid the game of cricket and its rules are way over my head.
