I Can Do All Things Because I Have “Limited Options”

I have attended a lot of Bible studies for about 50 years and also studied the Bible on my own. One thing that is consistent in all of my studies is the definition of the words “justified” or “justification”. The definition is “made right” or “made righteous”. Sin is WRONGDOING. It's not made wrong. It is WRONG! Whether or not you commit the sin or not … the sin … the act itself … is WRONG!! A believer has an avenue or path to God, away from the wrongs they have committed, to have their sins forgiven so that they can be “made right” or “made righteous”. Not going to get into a discussion of Christian teachings in this post. I'm just using what is taught about the meaning of the words “sin” and justification FOR CONTRAST. I won't mention any names. I'll call the young lady “She”. “She”, who is now a popular award-winning celebrity, and who is reaping the rewards of what she has sown (I guess) says that, along the way, in her walk and rise to fame and fortune, she drugged and robbed men because she had “limited options”. Limited options? Uh huh. Everybody always got a justifiable reason or excuse to commit sin. And they don't care if their sin is a wrong committed against someone else. Somehow in their mind, it's justified. Because of their “limited options”, it's right for them to do what they did or do. In other words, they justify themselves. I wonder what the other kids in the neighborhood “She” grew up in did or do. I mean … they probably ALL had or have “limited options”. RIGHT? QUESTION: What do you do when life hands you “limited options”? (Goodness gracious me! How on earth do you manage?) P.S. You can probably tell that I'm irritated by this lady's comments. Once again I have to bend the ears of my MyLot family so I can cool off!

Venting is good. When I have limited options, I do what I can with what I have. I have lived my life this way. With limits. And I continue to do so, you learn to bend and roll with what life throws your way.

One of my daughters likes to say: “Whatever! I just go with the flow!”

I agree all of us have limited options, but that doesn't justify our actions. We have the sense to know right from wrong and the freedom to choose what is right.

That's right. We have freedom to choose.

Don't we always have two options, to do right or to do wrong?

When you have limited options, you just do the best you can and pray that its good enough.

Yes. You do the BEST that you can FOR yourself. You don't think of something wrong to do to someone else and say it's OK because your options were limited. That young lady's comments really upset me.

When I start looking at my limited options, I start expanding my vision to see what God would have me do. He always has the right answers to my limited options because He doesn't have limits.

With limited options U have to be creative!! Even though this may seem like the only option that comes to your mind!! Maybe stand out front and give people a compliment with a cup!! I've done this and raised a little money!!

It's always ALL ON U. My late mother is that example. We were on welfare. I remember going to school with holes in my shoes, Where I grew up one would not think I could ever attend a private school. But my mother figured out a way to make it happen. She had "limited options" because she acted as if she had no limits at all! She was a good example for me.

Life is always full of options and choices. Sometimes they're limited, but we always have the choice to do right.

It's not black or white or "gray areas". It's right or wrong. Borrowed and modified a quote from a Harrison Ford movie. You're right. The choice is always ours to make.

At any time my options have been limited, they certainly ALL haven't been illegal.
