It to us is funny has so many said almost a Marine. One thing I can hold my head high about. I crap you not, no matter how small, you can prove you a Marine. The respect level changes even in corporate world.
I have never seen so many people give me such respect just showing them I was in national Guard. Showed up in uniform just to shut people up. They like holy crap and I am like nothing when a police sees you in Marine name, that is something. For once you feel life is fair. I do not make the rules just telling you.
Why I guess so many say they were almost Marines.

can't say i was a marine,but i almost went into the navy.
my dad was a lifer and was kinda leaning on me about it when i was younger.
in retrospect with the crappy jobs i've had all my life i probably should've.

@FourWalls You know what scares a Marine, women Marines.
They actually had school circles to warn us. Better treat them with respect and they going to win. Why because they know how hard they have to work. Their uniforms will look better, they will bring more manly stuff than you can even imagine. I am so glad they separate and only branch that does it but no way I could handle women thinking I am a woos too.

The Navy is (or was, I went in 40 years ago this year) a rough branch for women because of the, ahem, “reputation” Navy women have (over and above the other branches of service). My brother tried to talk me out of joining because of that, but I would hear none of it: I was going to be a sailor like my big brother. I wouldn’t trade the experience and the adventure for anything, though.

Love the Jarheads. Where would they be without the Navy??? That’s the Navy’s job: Marine transportation!!

Indeed, and that never gets old. The great thing is they love it too. I only met corpsman though, They are Marines just have to wear a Navy Uniform. I actually used them as preachers. These jerks suck, duh what did you think they would be like? Nicer, laughed out of building, no come back son . Funny thing is I only seem to find comfort in Marine page. This guy made a post and wanted everyone to tell him to F off. I am like see, punk rock.

My daddy was in the Air Force, but he has much respect for the Marines.

And vice versa I think the only branch Marines talk nice about because they can bomb from up above. Army is more or less same thing and Navy is our doctors. Meaning Marines will talk smack.

My late husband had to serve in the Soviet army you should of see their uniforms.

I saw actually traded with them and was excited. Not often you see your enemy in the flesh, They were not as happy, Trying to show we can be friends, No Take my dumb duffle bag and give me CD Of Rancid. How us that a fair trade/, OK not a free country...... so Rancid could change things, No,I just like and maybe killed over it Think I am lying ask if they even heard of Rancid?
