The Bible and so-called Christians.

I felt sad when it dawned on me that Christians are arguing about the Bible all the time. One says one thing, and another rebuts as if the purpose of being a Christian is to debunk the other and profess who is the more learned or more knowledgeable of the Bible.
The Bible is my favorite story Book and I have fallen in love with all the amazing, unbelievable characters, the intricate situations these characters were in, their incredible feats.
Of course, I do tell people to read the Bible cover to cover at least once in their lives.. Only then could they see the whole scope of Salvation History.
Besides, the Bible is God's Book, He communicates with us through the beautiful verses in that greatest work ever written.
So yes, it is my hope that instead of arguing or interjecting on a Biblical account, finding faults and maligning, if there is an error, correct it. But creating controversies when there is none is not the mark of a Christian.

I do understand that people interpret the Bible's teachings in different ways; but it's not necessary to get into arguments about it. Religion and politics are dangerous subjects to broach!

As always, my contention is there is only one truth. The truth needs to be told. Our Lord Jesus was very emphatic on it. It is all over in the Gospel of John.
As religion and politics being the most dangerous subjects to broach, I do agree absolutely. If however the challenge is there for me, I must readily face it.
On this discussion, I specifically need to remind my fellow Christians that we all know our Lord, our task is to preach the Gospel to the whole world, not to attack each other as to who is the better Christian.

@eileenleyva You're right there. Some of the worst hypocrites are those that claim to be the best Christians. I have seen many examples of bad and sinning people thinking that going to church on Sunday makes them a good Christian.

@LindaOHio A very sad reality for us.
But right now, I am more concerned about the apostasy. Christians must bond together and stand the line for our God.
