I have been reading many self help books and one of them is Emotional Intelligence by Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves. It is a really good book that has really helped me to be emotionally intelligent. Intelligence Quality(IQ) is great and is really useful in life but Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is equally great. You need EQ in order to make personal dicissions and also in order to relate with people well. One could be very intelligent in terms of what they do but they do not know how to relate with people since they don't know how to take care of their emotions. IQ is usually constant and cannot be improved as one is born with it and it determines how fast they learn something. EQ on the other hand can be manipulated and used for the greater good. The books gives four essentials of emotional intelligence. They include; self awareness, self management, social awareness and relationship management. It has stated clearly the strategies that one should take in order to master each of the essentials of emotional intelligence.

Not into self-help books myself.

Sounds like good books to read and then try to put into practice.
