This is a memoir about a couple who found an old castle they wanted to renovate back to the original. The story takes place in Wales and the language is a little hard for me to understand as I had to look a few words up in the dictionary. I got lost in the dialect and many names at times. The couple went through a lot to complete this venture. A LOT! They sure had the determination to go through all they went through to accomplish this heavy task. Consider an old, abandoned castle taken over by the elements and LIVING in said castle. There is a ghost involved. It's very historical (and I'm not a big fan of history). This is a great story for anyone who has interest in the history of an old castle in Wales (Gwydir). The one thing that touched me during the process of reading this book is that I found my father's old travel diaries. It seems to me he actually visited this castle after it was renovated. The diaries are headed my way so I'm going to look at them more closely to see if it is in fact the same castle. I have always wanted to go to the U.K. and visit some old castles, not sure whether I ever will. I certainly have no desire to renovate one.
