Even established companies take customers for a ride

I have been buying Yardley lavender talc for years and had no complaints till the last lot I got from Amazon in I had ordered for it months ago and only started using it a few days ago. The smell was different and I did not like it. There was a customer care email id on the tin and I wrote to them. I immediately got a response and a representative visited me with a replacement. The replacement unfortunately turned out to be the same in that they no longer had stuff with a lavender perfume. I did not accept the replacement but instead wrote to Amazon in forwarding copies of mails that I had exchanged with the manufacturer. Amazon in immediately arranged for refund although as per their rules these kind of items are not qualified for refund or return But I have told them that they should pull out this item from their range. What is not understood is how a company of repute can indulge in such malpractices

It sounds like they changed their formula for making the talc.

They have different scents for their talc and lavender is one of them. They should stop marketing products that they no longer produce rather than fill those tins with a wrong product.

@simone10 When they gave me that replacement it was a different batch and so they have definitely changed the ingredients.

@allknowing that's true. I wonder if the company is aware? Maybe they had a bad lot. If that was so, they should have recalled it

It is ok if they make changes but customers should be informed about it.

How ridiculous. This is a well known brand that people buy because it does what it says on the tin. Changing the formula changes it completely. Do this idiots not know they will lose customers hand over fist plus tarnish their good reputation. My philosphy is if its not broke don repair it. Leave things as they are! Glad they sorted you out with a refund though! How foolish!

I would be happy if they pulled out this item from their range. Although this is an English product it is made in India.but they did a good job of it until the last lot.

They should pull out that item from the market.
