What a FULL weekend - Friday

I'm glad to see everyone made it to Monday.
I left work Thursday evening thinking I was going to have a eventless, relaxing weekend but little did I know then that it wasn't meant to be.
Friday morning I slept in until about 8:00 and decided to head to the gym. I took my time, had a cup of coffee, talked with the wife, and then headed out the door. I jump in my truck and go to back out of the driveway but nothing happens. I shift back into park and try again but still nothing happens. Damn! I try a couple things and the truck just isn't going into gear. So I head back inside and get on the phone with AAA. With the first tow truck en route, I get on the phone to the repair shop to make sure they work on transmission linkage. The first tow truck arrives, a flat bed truck, he checks a couple things and says he believes it's the linkage also. But he can't reach up far enough to put the truck in neutral so my options are to have him drag my truck onto the flatbed (which could cause damage) or wait for a lift tow truck. It really wasn't an option so I waited for the lift tow truck. About an hour later the truck arrives and within a half hour we're headed to Advance Muffler & Brake in West Palm Beach.
On the ride there I start stressing a little because the shop closes at 5:00 pm and I don't know if they'll be able to get my truck repaired before they close and they aren't open on Saturday. Things work out though and they're able to start working on it right away and by 3:30 I'm heading home - $200 poorer.
While I was taking care of my truck, my wife received an invitation to meet some friends at Jo Jo's for an adult beverage or two. So now it's run through the shower and head out. We had a pretty good time with our friends and decided to go to Flanigan's for a follow-up drink - my wife said "I swear, just one". A couple drinks later (for my wife) we're finally heading home with Friday in the books.

@DianeBorg - Yeah, it happens. My truck has been good to me though. I have over 165,000 miles on it and it still runs like a champ. It's getting a little long in the tooth so some repairs are expected in the coming years.

@Beaser Yes, the more they get older the more problems start appearing.
