How do I clean the inside of a car windscreen?

I was driving for about 3 hours last night in the highway and realised that the inside of the windscreen was smudged or oily. I'd given the car for service and I'm sure they just smeared some solution to clean the dashboard and windscreen together. Any tips on how to safely and efficiently clean this. I have another long drive coming up.
