do you turn down the volume on the radio?

Why is it that when you're driving and looking for an address, you turn down the volume on the radio?

yup, i do. so that i can concentrate on where i am going. music can create distractions, and i might miss the address that im looking for.

So you can concentrate better. If you have too much stimuli, you brain can not process it as well. You are having to watch traffic, signs, drive and remember the directions. You will drive better if you do not have too much going on at once.

Oh my gosh that's hilarious! I noticed I did it AFTER I'd made fun of my mother for years for doing it! She would always shush us in the car when she was looking for some place to park or whatever!
