William Faulkner, one of the greatest of American writers in the 20th century, lived in a 'rooming house' commemorated by this plaque in new Orleans in 1925, where he wrote his firs novel, Soldier's Pay. This building is around the corner for St. Louis Cathedral, in Pirate's Alley. In modern times the building is a bookstore featuring Faulkner's novels. In one bookcase inside is a collection of Faulkner's first edition novels, valued in the thousands of dollars. My photo Some facts from Wikipedia

It really is. Faulkner was a truly great writer to me, as an English teacher.
