Why they use filtered on their photo / myLot

I don't understand why some people are use filters when they have selfies?? Is it because they want to look pretty in the pictures? Or they have use style on the photo, what can you say about this?

I don't use filters so I'm not sure. I'm guessing it would improve what they think of the photo.

I use filters because I have a ten year old niece, and it allows for a measure of privacy, and well I just like them lol!
