it doesn't increase your points (the one beside your username) when you respond to your own discussion, but it will always put your topic back in the discussion page, making it visible to members for them to respond to. i guess there are credits given to most responded topics but mylot algorithm takes care of that and wouldn't let us know :P

So, responding to someone else's response in your own discussion isn't good?

commenting on your own discussion doesnt be credited.but it is always good to show your appreciation for other's response.
