My daughters and I woke up before dawn, I would have loved to say that we would be joining the "Salubong" or the meeting of the Blessed Mother and Her Risen Son, but no, I had to bring one daughter to the bus station northbound, and the other daughter to the hospital.
The younger one though was able to come with me to the first Mass at the National Shrine of our Lady of Mount Carmel. This magnificent shrine was built in 1954 and turned minor basilica 25 March, just a few weeks ago.
Meaning, this is the shrine's first Easter Mass as a basilica menore.
My daughter also considers this the most beautiful church, thus her favorite.
Happy Easter, everyone. This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad.

Thank you, Indeed, I am having a happy Easter spring cleaning and attending to a pile of laundry that accumulated during the quiet days.
Just got up from a two-hour power nap and on my way again somewhere to hunt for food.
There's still white corn in the ref but I am craving for real meal.
Easter blessings on you and your beloved family. More blessings for the community work.

@sunrisefan This is delightful, You did make the children happy this Easter Sunday. Kudos to both of you, and your comrades in the service.
Have you made a post about this?

@eileenleyva Thanks, Ms. Eileen :) These are a few of the eastern goodies that my wife and her group gave to the kids or Children's Liturgy of the Word in two masses this morning :) My wife spent almost a month making over a hundred of the rabbit shapes on the loot bags :)

The Season of Easter is a good time to visit Mt. Carmel again. It is so beautiful. Plus, the Parish Priest is providing leaflets for the blessing of the family home, Happens only Easter, and the extra plus of being a Basilica Menore is good for the pilgrims,
There is also kakanin at ulam in front of the Basilica Menore,
You need not cook lunch.
Easter blessings, raksi, to you and your family.

@eileenleyva for sure. I missed going there. But it is quite far from where we live now. But we usually visit churches from around Metro Manila twice a year and Mount Carmel is included in our list

@rakski The Parish Priest will make leaflets for blessing of the home whole season of Easter. If by chance any one in the family can avail of the prayers, and bring bottles for Holy Water.

From a somber Good Friday mood, the colors today are sunshiny bright, the stained glass exuberant, the faithful garbed in lush, abounding style.
My daughter got to La Union before noon, and she said she was eating seafood stir fry for lunch. She will check out one of the old churches there for Easter Mass.
Thanks Danna B. The blessings of Easter be upon you and your family.

Why did you have to take your daughter to the hospital? I hope she's OK. That's a beautiful church. Wishing you and yours a Blessed Easter.

She's resident on duty, OB-Gyne Department.
This Marian Shrine, in its simplicity, exudes in splendor. I wish I was a parishioner in this church, the Shrine radiates grandeur without really adorning intricate designs. Just magnificent.
