The Last Straw...Yet Another Reason I Don't Take the "Green" Movement Seriously....

I could take the "Green" movement more seriously if they could just get their stories straight, or at least make up their minds. When I was growing up, everything was paper or glass. Fast food was served in paper (or paperboard). The Green Movement used their considerable political and social clout to get everyone using plastic products to "save the trees". Polystyrene foam seemed to be the miracle product for fast food and other temporary packaging... until... Until they decided petroleum products were evil incarnate, so they once again pushed for a change...back to paper... Apparently trees are more renewable than they thought. Now we're supposed to freak out over plastic straws. It must be pretty important because the high and mighty Hollywood crowd (along with the rest of the Left Coast) even considers it a criminal act to use plastic straws... So now it's back to paper straws, which are about as functional as the garbage bags at an Earth Day celebration. So what next, Greenies? Are you going to demand paper computer chassis and computer chip substrates? lol

I agree with you and I live in evil California. They are hypocrites. Studies have already proven not giving plastic bags at stores has no difference. BTW, the "greenies" worship their tech devices, you know those plastic encased gadgets that end up in landfills when they replace with this year's must have model.
