If there is to be an award for being a good neighbor in Sherburne County in Minnesota, it would go to Jesse Schumaker who happened to be at the right place at the right time last week when he and his son returned to their home in Blue Hill Township early in the morning after they forgot to bring their chairs to engage in some turkey shooting. Schumaker alerted the Princeton Fire Department by calling 911 to inform them that his neighbors home was on fire. Jesse then went inside the burning home that started in the second floor to rescue an elderly couple first, then their grandson and his girlfriend before using a brace of wood to the roof to get the fifth man rescued before the fire department arrived to put out the fire. Princeton Fire Chief Ron Lawrence mentioned that the cause of the fire is being investigated. A Go Fund Me account has been set up to assist the fire victims to find money to repair their home. One of the rescued fire victims was taken to a local hospital. The condition of the fire victim is not clear at this time. Jesse admits that he would rescue his neighbors once again if a fire was to break out on their home since he believes in the Good Neighbor policy of life.

Jesse is one person who admits saving the lives of his neighbors is why he is admired for his actions of displaying courage in the face of danger.
