Along with my ten favorite songs that provide something to sing as you walk out the door of your job for the last time I had a couple that didn't make the list. Sometimes you just have to throw them in because it's not fair to leave them off. So, here's a bonus tune.
BONUS: Goodbye to You - Scandal
Although this is not applicable to my current job, I guarantee you it has applied to other jobs. That's temping in the big city. Some jobs are great. Some pull liquid through a straw.
So, in case of the latter, you need a good kiss-off. And Scandal, the short-lived 80s band with one major hit ("The Warrior"), provided it with their first single.
After their moment in the sun lead singer Patty Smyth went on to a solo career. Among her hits was "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough," a duet with Don Henley. And, here's some trivia: according to Picky Wedia, she was pegged to replace David Lee Roth as the lead singer of Van Halen.
There's a better kiss-off song, IMO, on the list, but I couldn't ignore this one.
Goodbye to You
Written by Zack Smith
Recorded by Scandal
Released as a single, 1982

Thanks for sharing. Never heard this before but I love Patti Smith singing Because the Night.

So we have three people who've never heard it, one who says it's overplayed, and Lori. At least I know I didn't dream this song's popularity (despite its poor showing on the charts). Thanks for restoring my faith in 80s overplayed music memories.

@FourWalls There is an "oldies" station here that frequently plays this and "The Warrior."
