So....how did I spend my first twelve hours of retirement? Doing laundry, of course. Not the entire 12 hours, mind you. Anyway, here’s another song for the end of a job.
#7: Mr. Walker, It’s All Over - Billie Jo Spears
A humorous look at a midwestern girl who heads for New York City and finds the ugly side of work and the city. So she leaves...with a great kiss-off that I’ll leave for you to hear.
Billie Jo Spears had one other major hit, the 1975 country chart-topper “Blanket on the Ground.” This is a country favorite from a performer who should have been much bigger.
Mr. Walker, It’s All Over
Written by Gene Crysler
Recorded by Billie Jo Spears
From Mr. Walker, It’s All Over, 1969

She didn’t have many big hits, which is sad. She certainly had a good voice.

Work!
I worked for a nonprofit organization that works with schools. The VA retired me, though.

Were you humming Don Henley's Dirty Laundry while doing the laundry?

It best to join some social organization after retirement instead of getting bored.
