House helps (maids) should be treated well....

I always had luck with good house help, back my home I have seen my mother how well she has always treated our maid, how considerate she has always been. She has always respected her and given her space, that's also the reason why she has always been supportive to my mother. It's been more than 14 Years that I have seen her working with us. But on contrary, at my in-law's house I have seen how they mistreat their house help, it's been 8 months and 5th maid has be recruited. I think their is some problem at our end, not every maid can be wrong. They are too cranky and are always pointing out to them for one thing or the other. I think they lack the sense of respect for them, they are paid fine but without appreciation nobody would work. I am in a kind of dilemma, this time again the 5th one is about to get fired, I really want her to stay, what to do....???

I was thinking same, because I had too much. Every time a maid can't be wrong, just because she is working for us. I think they make horrible bosses

Now a days maids also wish to well treatment from employers. Money is not everything. You can talk to your in-laws or to your wife.

@Aansh13 Oh I am sorry, did not check your profile. So it will be difficult time for you then? I was thinking what is your problem if it happens at in-laws place (thinking you are hubby)

It is time they are treated with kid gloves as it is their time now to boss around. (lol) We have always had maids and have lovely memories of our association with them The present set up where a couple does our work is the same. We are happy with each other.

Well it’s better if they dont have house helps. In australia, they dont have such because they consider it as slavery. Well, i want ms. Judy evans correct me on this. But in some part of the world, they hire such. For me, i will never hire one. Even if i were rich. They should be treated well. Someone who mistreats them tells something about his true color.

Personally, moving out is good. If I can turn back time I would have done just that.

I believe that the measure you use for someone is the measure you receive. Maids are humans and thus deserves to be respected. It's quite disheartening how people treats maids as trash, forgetting that Tomorrow things can turn around and he/ she will have to work under someone else. God may in future bless this maid you are maltreating, then I wonder the heart with which you will use to ask for help or forgiveness from her. I believe in DOING TO OTHERS WHAT I WANT THEM TO DO TO ME. Thanks for bringing up this discussion.

Firstly, thanks for appreciating!! I believe the same, time is never constant and can always change. Hoping things get better for her, though I will be doing everything possible to help and protect her.

We should make them feel welcome and respected so they will stay and live happily with us.

My mother treated the maids well always , but unfortunately, two of them was caught stealing money. We relieved them from service with a warning. Many maids still like my mom and even if they don't work in our house anymore .
