Car for $4000 / myLot

Yesterday we looked at a minivan for $4,000 my husband was pretty interested but wasn’t sure if we would be able to get a loan it. So we went to talk to car places that we got our current minivan and told them we where looking for a few second can and fit his white minivan they had we where looking at. My husband doesn’t need a bells and whistles kind of can just one that fits 3 kids with there car seats. For him to be able to get to and from work. So it’s just a commuter car. It looked good but at this current time after talking with the hen we found only get a loan for $1,000 but we don’t have enough set aside to help with a down payment either. So my husband said he guess he’ll just have to hold off. My answer is that means that there is something better out there that you need to wait and save for. The Ford will make it a little longer and if something happens we can work out something with the van

My daughter is saving for a car right now, and she's now been saving for 2 years. I would have never had the patience to wait that long, but she wants to make sure she saves enough money to put a good down payment on a car. I do keep reminding her though that when the time comes to buy a car, that it is nothing more than transportation to get her from point A to point B. She keeps saying how she needs to find a car that fits her personality. I get that, but I tell her not to overspend because of that. I hope you and hubby can save up enough money to be able to get you reliable transportation in the near future!

Yep, some times you need a certain vechical for certain things. We got the van I was babysitting so I need to fit 5 car seats in it so we traded up and got it for $1,250 which was a great deal for it. We got it for a steal he just needs something that will sit in the hospital parking lot, if it gets beat up he won’t car, and can for 3 car seats if need it. He kind of thinking if he can find one in the right prices that is an SUV. I told him as long as I can drive If if I need to.

@moffittjc we learn with age. This will probably be our 5th car we are getting. 3rd we are getting together. At least the two we have right now we owe nothing for other then maintains.

@ShyBear88 I definitely spent way too much money for my truck, considering how little I drive it. I drive it to and from work, and the whole day it just sits there. I have a company work truck that I drive when I am at work, so in essence I overpaid for a vehicle that gets driven 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening. Next time I'll be much more frugal about buying a vehicle.

$4,000 is because we don’t have that laying around. We got approved for $1,000 and the Ford will only get us $600 when we trade it in. So not enough for a down payment to make the monthly payments after that lower
