Day 2 Colossians 2 Colossians 2:1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; 2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. 5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. 6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. 18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increases with the increase of God. 20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? 23 Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in self-ordered worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh. Many times, we are absent from loved ones and friends, but feel as though we are still with them in spirit, longing for the time when we can all be together again. Paul felt that way as he wrote to the church at Colosse, and not only them but the church at Laodicea. His heart was with those he knew and loved, wanting only the best for them in Jesus Christ. As Christians, you too are to seek the good of others through prayer and giving to the needs of others as you can, showing your love for them, not only in word, but in action. When you are rooted and ground up in Jesus Christ, you will walk with Him in all holiness because the Godhead lives in you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus put to death all your sin, nailing it to the cross. You are, therefore, buried with Him in his death, and raised to life through faith. Walk in Him then and be complete in Him, perfect in holiness and love for all people. Let’s pray: Father, help me live my life in You, rooted and grounded in faith and love so I can be a faithful witness of all You have done for me and will do through me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. @just4him I really liked it! It is easy to understand and study from. There are guides by subject, to make it easy to research and a place where you can mark what you read. I had several bibles, but I loved that one the best. I lost almost every thing I had in storage. Thanks

@dfollin That's great. The reason I never got that one was because I felt it was already marked. I like marking my own Bibles showing me what I've learned and what was important during that particular study session. I'm sorry you lost almost everything you had in storage.

Amen! Yes actions speak louder than words. Tell me something, what are your views about covering head in Church?

My views on it are different from what the norm is. The Bible says a woman should cover her head and a guy shouldn't. It's a sign of respect. My head is covered. I always wear a hat. It's not a fancy hat. You might have seen it in my profile picture. Not the current one, but a previous one. I have many hats for different seasons. Here women don't wear hats and men wear them in church. I hate seeing it, but it isn't my place to say anything. Have a blessed day.

@ShifaLk I have one or two questions. You speak about being modern. Is God a modern God? Did He change? I come from a generation where people paid more attention to good manners in everything and etiquette in public places. Now, in those places where you need to show respect, the person in charge will tell men to remove their hats. They didn't need to do that when I was younger. It was a given. Women also wore hats everywhere, something else that has changed since I was a kid.

@just4him oh okay. Even I believe that it's not for today's time as the time is modern. A heart must be clean and the dress up should be in such a way that it doesn't expose, at least at Church so Even I don't cover head but I wear decent cloth especially at Church, with extra care
