What If You're Just Like A Lamb For The Slaughter?

Growing up with a family where you didn't feel like you belonged. Your personalities are so at odds you'd think you're from mars. They all seem to hate you when you start to talk or give your 2 cents. They hate you even more when you act out because you can't speak. Now that you're older you realize that the reason why everyone is so cold is that you're all just like lambs. You don't say it but it's all at the back of your minds, at least subconsciously. Meaningful relationships and interactions don't really matter as you're all meant to be separated anyways, eventually. You can't build each other up since sharing meant losing yourself, getting attached and being accountable. You don't need each other's help and you shouldn't expect any - not without raised eyebrows at least. In the end your success is measured by the number of children you have - more sons the better - and the amount of money in your bank so you can repeat the process all over again. So what's wrong with that? Nothing really. If it's what having a family is all about. And not until you start to realize that all your life you are being raised just like a lamb to be sold in the meat market.

@wingedtip me too. We sisters are tight. Family is still your best bet when you are at your lowest point.

Its a sad story. People should respect each other. Not possible to learn all the languages. They should understand this.

Exactly. Some people just see others as a commodity.

Most of us don't focus on the thorns but enjoy the smell and the beauty of the roses.

I feel you. Life is indeed never, ever perfect and whoever thinks it is must be kidding themselves. I do have an advice on life just like everybody else, but I have to wait till I'm old to be "wise" to tell it to the youngsters..

Sometimes, people you meet outside your family can be a sort of family, like true friends and good workmates or good neighbors, a family doesn't need to have blood connections.

This doesn't sound like a great family. Sorry for whoever might have gone through such.
