What is true "Fame"...

There are people who want to be famous. They want to stand out from a crowd and be recognized by everyone. But what does it really mean to be "famous". There are people who are well known, but not really famous. If I said the names Prophdet Joseph Smith, Savatage Lead Guitar, Criss Oliva, Army Sergeant Major Maria Allsop, or Crane Operator instructor Derek Thomas, some of you may know who I'm talking about, but most wouldn't. Yet each of them are famous in their own way.
I think true fame comes when you are well known beyond your own area of expertise. Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Colin Powell. We don't have to put titles or professions before their names, because everyone just knows who we're talking about.

Very true. But its not Ghandi, its Gandhi, father of the nation. Yes those who are famous need not have to put their surnames or profession before their names.
