Thanks Trump, Remember when everyone was saying Thanks Obama. Hey big holiday normally for our Mexican brothers and sisters. I actually forgot about the holiday. Brother and sister brought it up because they were anticipating a loud weekend. I am not sure if they scared or maybe just not feeling it, but last night was quiet as all hell. Not even as loud as a normal Saturday. Maybe 4th, but today Sunday the actual 5th, maybe will be more noise. I went out and know a few Mexican friends and not a one even mentioned it to me. Not really proud of my country right now, probably not worth celebrating anything at this point. I never had a problem with the holiday, actually pretty good fun normally. Get to hear the Mariachi screams and laughs. It can get quite funny, especially when they try to get a white person to do it. I am not good at many things but am pretty good at letting out the scream. It is also another reason to drink beer on the day. You know I always love that kind of thinking Anyone celebrating today? Be free and be proud. Never be scared of who you are and where your roots come from. What I was taught anyway and always embraced different cultures because taught me that much more.

The only celebrating around here anyone does, is going to the very few Mexican restaurants we have. No parties or anything, so it's always quiet. I'll just end up making tacos for dinner, but that's because I wanted them for weeks already.

That is good, people seem to like the quiet lately and who does not like Taco's never met one person in my life who hated taco's. We do Taco Wednesday''s Tuesday getting the credit but our Mexican place has their specials on that day of the week. They were so good last time.

@Courtlynn Hmm, so there is people out there. To each is own. Sounds awesome, my brother does tacos and burrito's sometimes, very good but a lot of work so why he does do it more often. Buying them is worth the money. Cheap and saves you a lot of time. I really think he does it just to say can do it better. Everyone can do it better if given enough time and resources. That part goes out the window.

@crossbones27 I know many who don't like them.. my mom is one. we used to make them every Tuesday, whether for lunch or dinner, for my brother but he isn't around a lot of the time anymore, to do that. so we have them whenever hes home and we have the stuff for it.

The thing is it's not a big celebration in Mexico. I know there are Cinco de Mayo stuff happening in and around LA, but maybe the home party stuff people are keeping it on the low down - I don't know - but you're right, the weekend has actually been pretty quiet in the hood. Yesterday was all about Star Wars (May the 4th be with you ).

That is true, I have heard that before, I think one of my friends actually said its just an excuse to throw a party so the wife does not get mad. If I say we throwing a party slap across face, say Cinco De Mayo, OK, we can do that.

@crossbones27 Hey, I don't mind extra celebrations - it's all good and brings people together. Did you get to have any Mexican food or drinks? Coronas anyone ?
