I am a huge fan of Hank Williams, Sr. (I don't care as much for Jr. but that's a discussion for another day.) I don't really think Hank Williams, Sr. was that great sounding per se. His voice was far from velvety smooth, but I like that he put his heart & soul into the music. When he sang of heart-wrenching pain/loneliness etc, you can tell he knew what he was talking about. I like that he never put on pretenses.
