Diary Monday 6th May 2019 An official bank holiday in the UK, the first Monday after May Day (because they can’t just give us the 1st Of May as the holiday which would be better. With limited public transport and many public buildings closed I just stayed at home job searching, and surfing cyberspace. Diary Tuesday 7th May 2019 I called round to the doctors to get my next appointment from hem. It is easier than trying to phone their useless phone-lines. My next check-up is booked for the 21st May. I called in the community centre to job search and prepared for tomorrow’s voluntary work. Diary Wednesday 8th May 2019 Two workshops for university volunteers today, one in writing our stories out for use in student text books and one for developing some digital games involving Sims, and other state of the art virtual reality. It made for a fun day, and the university paid for lunch too. Diary Thursday 9th May 2019 I had to go to the post office to collect a parcel they couldn’t deliver for me yesterday because I was out. I thought it was some books I am expecting from a review group I am in, but it was a free tee shirt for my convention activity at the recent science fiction event I attended. I arrived home with it just as the postman delivered the books I was expecting, so two cool parcels in one day. Yay! Arthur Chappell

It's good to receive parcels. What kinds of books did you receive?

@arthurchappell I think I have not read her books. I am not fond of science fiction and horror novels.

Two packages in one day---You should buy a lottery ticket before that lucky streak ends.

Ah, but if May Day Bank Holiday was always on the first then some years it would fall on the weekend. Much better for it to fall on a working day.
