He Would Have Been Twelve

He would have been twelve tomorrow, twelve, so darn young, but he died on a January day in 2017, a fighter from the time he was three! He would have been twelve in a few hours, he had dreams of being a wrestler they even made him an honorary memory of WWE, they called him Drax Shadow, that little boy whose legacy transcends his lost, that little boy whose family and friends still grieve for him, his death a gut punch, we prayed for healing, faster and believe, his family fighting for him every step of the way! He would have been twelve day, on the verge of being a teenager, I wonder if he would still like Superheroes, I have no doubt he’d still love the WWE! He would have been twelve today, and his memory lives on, that little boy who showed me what a superhero was! I think of his Mom, Dad and brother and I grieve with them. His Mother that I only months after he was diagnosed took it upon herself to gift me with an Authors photoshoot, not charging me a dime, my favorite pictures came out of that shoot! He would have been twelve today, but less than four percent of cancer research funding goes to Children, did you know that, I didn’t either, until I did. I have pictures of the memorial service something his Mom allowed, but those pictures are memories of a smiling little boy, trying with all his might to beat a monster! He was only nine then but due to know real readily available treatments for Children since the 1980’s Children are left with ineffective meds, and adult strength treatments! It breaks my heart, because so many little super heroes die. And please don’t blame it on diet, or anything other than it is, they tried everything from natural cures, to other meds, and yet people are so quick to judge. He would have been twelve in a few hours it’s not fair that he’s not there celebrating with his family. He would have been twelve but he could fight no longer, he’s with God now, and we grieve. This is the only place I’m posting this, rest assured! For Mylot members only because I needed to get this off my chest. He should have been twelve today!

I lost Tomás to cancer too. That is, my daughter Claudia lost him. But it is everyone´s loss. He fought until the last minute. And he lived a whole life, so wise, during all that time. His little life that did not reach the 8 years of age.

@Michellekidwell Many years have gone by, but we still mourn him. Tomas also had a neuroblastoma. He had surgery, chemo and radiotherapy. None worked. He was a brave boy. He wanted to be an entomologist when he grew up.
