I just finished Vengeance Road by Christine Feehan last night. This is book number two in Christine's Torpedo Ink series. The first one was Judgement Road which came out last year. I know because I read it about ten times lol. Vengeance Road is their brother Steele's story. Years ago, the Torpedo Ink bike club went undercover in a different biker club called the Swords, to dig out one of the biggest human trafficking rings in the US. During that time Czar, the club's president almost lost his wife but Steele found his "one". Breezy is the daughter of the Louisiana chapters President and could screw everything up for Torpedo Ink. Steele took one look at her and her compassion for others and fell hard. Not that he can say it or show it at this point. To save her from the retaliation of her father who is already a vicious man that likes to beat up weaker and smaller...anything, Steele sent Breezy away. To do so ripped out what was left of his heart. He had to be cruel because she just wouldn't leave him. Yes, there is more to that back story but it's their story to tell and this should give you the general over view. Present day, Breezy's son has been kidnapped and she has no one to turn to so she finds Torpedo Ink. She's been done with the biker life and wants no part of it. Not for her and most assuredly not for her son. Now she has to do what she never dreamed she would ever have to do again. Breezy has to find Steele. Steele never forgot about Breezy and had his brother Code looking for her. It was only a matter of time but then she comes into their bar, lays an envelope down on the bar, sees him and runs. Breezy doesn't want anything to do with and Steele can't let her go again. When Steele learns that Breezy's son is his, Steele swears he'll never let her go and some how they're going to work out their issues one by one. With Breezy's past and Steele's demons that seems to be impossible but for their son...just maybe. The first step though is to get the boy back from Breezy's father and brother who have kidnapped him. That was the worst mistake they ever made because Steele and his brothers will stop at nothing to get the boy back and exact any vengeance upon them needed. Christine Feehan does it again. This book to me is a five star read. It has action and drama, not to forget the humor laced in throughout the novel. If you haven't read Judgement Road first though, I recommend that you read that then this one. Basically read the series in order lol, it'll make more sense that way. *image from google*
