Women asking men out....

I was sitting with one of my husband's cousins, she was talking about dating and how she always wanted to ask some man but never approached. I think this is what most of the women feel, they cant make a first move. May be in our society this is still a taboo. I think it is empowering to ask a guy out, I mean whats wrong. We are taught this way, that men are suppose to initiate, the other side that even men can have insecurities or some kind of shyness doesn't click in our head. I think, making a first move also shows our confidence that we can go for something that we desire. Sadly, sometimes this approach of women is considered wrong and is taken other wise. I am disheartened how women are always suppressing their desires, just because if they show them out in open they would be judged. Wishing more respect to women when they express their desires..... Isn't how it should be....???

There are certain societal stereotypes and prejudices. Men and women are equal and should have equal rights to express their emotions and feelings. I personally don't find anything wrong with it.

@Aansh13 But unfortunately we have so much hypocrisy. We are selectively liberal or liberal at convenience.

I am not questioning the culture, if someone is accepting it by their own means I totally okay with it, but if you have a question to it, and you don't agree then you need to empower yourself

@Aansh13 Sorry but I am not saying that you are questioning the culture because I do not either. I guess people have their own ways and reception about certain things. have a nice day.

i don't see anything wrong with asking someone out, or at least, making it obvious that i'm interested. in my society, it's even worst, but i don't care, i go for what i want !

I am totally agree with you. But its the societies where the things are continuously happened from long years ago. And we are acquainted with it. Its only the we women who can change the men's mind.

I know it isn't easy for women, but that's what the point is, they are not brought up that way, stereotypes you see...
