The Sacred Calling of Mothers

It's Mothers Day in the United States (and some other countries). A day we set aside to honor our mothers. When you think about motherhood it is pretty amazing. Only mothers get to carry a child inside them. Providing the environment necessary for a new human being to develop and thrive. As if that isn't amazing enough, think about something else. It is the ONLY way for human beings to enter this life. It is the only way a person can learn of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have the opportunity to accept His Atonement. In other words, without being born of a woman, there is no eternal progress. There is no body, there is no life here on Earth, there is no Heaven. When our Heavenly Father set up this Plan of Salvation, with all the opportunities that come with it. No one can participate in it without a woman becoming a mother. So to all you mothers out there, you are sacred in your role in God's plans for us all.
