Piute County (Utah) Sheriff Marty Gleaves performed a very unusual kind of rescue on Saturday morning when he had to use his lasso to help a male driver who crashed his auto in the Sevier River on Friday evening before midnight when he tried to avoid hitting an elk on Highway 89. It is evident that the male driver did not have a cellphone on his possession at the time of the accident. The driver was trapped on the roof of his auto while he waited for someone to assist him. Gleaves happened to drive by in the area when he saw several drivers attempting to rescue the man who was trapped on the roof of his auto. Since the sheriff did not have any of his equipment to rescue the trapped driver, he used his lasso to have the driver place it on his waist so he could be dragged from the roof of his auto to the river bank where he was taken to a local hospital to be treated for hypothermia before he was released the same day.

That is very true since had he fallen off of the roof of the auto at night, he likely would have drowned since he would have a hard time getting back to the roof of his auto due to weakness.
