Should mylot allow us to mark "Best answer" to our questions?

Will it be a good idea if we are allowed to mark one of the answers as the best answers when we ask a question and get many answers. This may make more people answer with better quality. The like feature works a little like this as good answers receive a lot of likes, but having a best answer may help the question asker indicate what was most useful or relevant.

The feature was there in the past like 'Best Response". We used to get a notification in our inbox, one of your responses as selected as best response and congratulations as well. It was very exciting to get that kind of mail as we always felt proud for the same. Even though it was not sure about extra money for best response, it motivated us greatly. That time we had to write a quality post too. Not allowed one line replies.

As JJ points out, there used to be a 'Best Response' button but (a) it got complicated when there were two or more very good answers and you could only award one (b) it was often abused by people who gave their cronies 'Best Response' when it was clearly not deserved and (c) a lot of people forgot to (or didn't care or didn't want the hassle of) going back and awarding 'Best Response'.
One might have a system based on the number of likes, or whatever, a response receives but that would also be open to some of the faults listed above and, in any case, I don't think that the myLot community is motivated to read and rate other people's responses in the way that, say, the Quora community (or several others I can think of) is.

Maybe it's a good idea like in the old Mylot where we were both part of but some people who are just after earning still won't give quality answers cause they won't get anything from what they type, their main concern would still be the number responding and interacting quality or not

I don't think so. What I love about Mylot is its simplicity, I definitely wouldn't change that. It's doing great as it is and it's a nice site where you can evade for a while, write about anything you like, make some friends and getting a few pennies in the process .
