A Rose Visitor

While out in the yard earlier with my camera I snapped a few shots. This rose is one of many. See the little caterpillar on the rose petals. Can you guess what it will become? A moth or a butterfly? Anyone care to guess? I see these every year especially on the rose petals. They are very small and I sometimes walk passed them. I am paying closer attention now to every petal. So care to guess what this unusual looking caterpillar will eventually become?

We have had similar caterpillars here in CA, and the kids are excite about "catching" them. I let the kids know that they must put the on a leaf or twig so they can be cucoons. I think ours are moths. Do you know?

That is a pretty cool looking caterpillar . . . I don't think I've seen one of those out here (unless they are just hidden away).

This is fuzzy, so it is going to be moth; although not all moth caterpillar are fuzzy, however there is hardly any known fuzzy butterfly caterpillar.
