Clearing phone photos

Now that phones take such good photos, I have been using my phone most of the time to take pictures except when it is a special occasion or a holiday. However, this means my phone is almost full all the time b/c I take a lot of pics :) What options do you use to clear off your phone and backup your photos? I use the Amazon Photos app to back them up, but I still like to plug my phone in to my computer to clear off the files directly. I'm curious what other options there are
