Making or buying x-mas gift?

Whose buying or making? I've bought just a couple but I want to make some gifts again this year. Any neat ideas? I was going to make fleece scarves again this year, for people who didn't get them last time. Maybe fleece hats, but I'm not sure how to do those, yet.
