Weird Word Wednesday- Pluviophile

Pluviophile is an odd-sounding word. I wouldn't have guessed that it had anything to do with rain. Pluvia is the Latin word for rain, so that explains its origin.
Last week, we had a lovely rain shower during the afternoon, with no thunder, lightning or strong winds. I wanted to go out and enjoy it but I also wanted to be lulled to sleep by the steady, peaceful sound.
Normally I prefer sunny weather, but I loved the rain that day.
Do you consider yourself a pluviophile?

'tis 'xtremely rare 'round these parts to get rains that aint got cloud to ground lightnin' all o'er the place 'n high winds. i do love me a slow, gentle rain though. when those occur, regardless 'f time 'f day, yer gonna find me sittin' out'n 't fer a bit. jest soothes the soul.

@BloggerDi got a few sprinkles this eve, no lightnin', but high winds. danged the luck. perhaps the next system that comes through? then 'gain, those'n the area that did get rain 'd the misfortune 'f hail, too. yup, i could do without the latter. know it'd be comin' though 's we'd been way too lucky the past few years.

@crazyhorseladycx I understand! I live in Missouri, in the middle of "tornado alley". We are officially in tornado season right now.
