Zombie Raccoons

If any of you live in Chicago or its suburbs particularly Riverside run don’t walk the zombie raccoons are coming. No, I am not writing about a move this is the truth. Raccoons in the suburbs of Chicago have contracted a disease known as distemper which causes them to walk upright, stagger aimlessly, and bare their teeth. It is like little furry zombies coming your way. Unfortunately, domesticated dogs are very susceptible to the disease and the virus does great damage to their bodies and can lead to death. If you live in this area your dog is protected if you have had him vaccinated against this dreadful disease. Distemper can easily spread from wildlife to dogs through the air. So dogs who have not been vaccinated or older dogs are very susceptible to this disease. The Riverside police are recommending keeping a close eye on dogs as well as children who play with their pets might just suddenly come upon one of the zombie raccoons. It is suggested that if people spot any of these strange acting raccoons to get in touch with the police right away and get them removed from their properties. Does anyone live in this area?

I am so glad, I do not have to worry about raccoons anymore. We had a few a couple of years back that drove my small dog crazy. She wants to chase them. Keeping her from doing that was not easy.

I have heard of that before in another area. Thankfully we can go ahead and shoot them if we see any that are not acting right.

It is always horrible when the reality of the impact of a natural process, causes people to panic.
