RIP Firefighter Mitchell F. Lundgaard of the Appleton, Wisconsin Fire Department. He was a husband and father of 3 kids. He joined the department in 2005. Like all Fire Fighters, part of his job description was "put your life on the line to save lives and property". All emergency services workers understand that we might not make it home that day. Fire Fighters know that no matter how many safeguards and OSHA regulations are put in place, fire sometimes wins. It wasn't even during a fire. He was responding to a medical emergency. Lundgaard was killed, a yet unidentified police officer and an unidentified bystander were injured.
