My mother and I watched Suspiria (1977) on Mother's Day. There is a remake of it made last year. I had been wanting to see the original. We watched it on Hoopla. It has Jessica Harper, Stefania Casini, Flavio Bucci, Eva Axén, Rudolf Schündler, Udo Kier, Alida Valli, and Joan Bennett in it. Big Warning: there is lots of violence and some scary scenes. In this movie, a woman named Suzy travels to Germany in hopes to join a ballet school. Madame Blanc owns the school. When Suzy arrives, she can't get in. Good thing she didn't. One of the students gets killed. She learns this the next morning by Madame Blanc. (Madame Blanc acts like it's nothing to have a student killed.) Later on Suzy get sick and is put on a special "diet." Then maggots fall from the ceiling. Madame Blanc says it was from rotten food. (which is stupid. why put food in the attic? And no one questions it.) Then another student goes "missing" (actually killed). Suzy finds out a witch coven owns the school. She kills the head witch. My mother and I sorta liked this movie. I don't know when I will watch the remake.
