A Hawaii dog that stood 7 years in a SPCA shelter gets a new home

Brad who is a male Australian mixed cattle dog mix who had spent seven years at an Oahu SPCA animal shelter after many times that he had been adopted only to be returned back to the shelter received some good news when a couple from Michigan who went to Hawaii on a vacation fell in love with Brad at the shelter.
The catch is that Brad needs a huge home for him to be happy. The Michigan couple filled that need when they told the SPCA officials that they have a farm in Michigan that Brad would be welcome to stay with them.
The couple whose name was not mentioned wanted to pay the expenses to have Brad travel from Hawaii to Michigan.
The SPCA officials went the extra mile by asking for donations from the Go Fund Me site which raised over $1,600 dollars to pay the expenses for Brad to be bailed out and join his new owners in Michigan.
Now that is a very happy story to share on this site.

It is rare for a dog that spend a long time inside a shelter to get adopted since most families want puppies or young dogs.

It is a great story since few dogs that stay in kennels past one year get adopted.

What I have noticed about dogs is that they know who is a good owner for them. Brad will have a wonderful time with his new family in Michigan.

I agree with you that there are good deeds being done adopting dogs who are in animal shelters for a long time.
